American Nurse Today is the official journal of the American Nurses Association (ANA). The journal reaffirms ANA’s initiatives and directly supports nurses in advancing the profession through practical, independent, evidence-based, and peer-reviewed clinical data and information. In order to help students through this initial clinical experience, faculty must first understand more fully the meaning of this experience for nursing students. This study examined the lived experiences of student nurses during their clinical practice from the phenomenological point of view of nine student nurses. Student nurses are found to be on the verge of developing the sense of responsibility for the health and well-being of others as having been introduced to the threshold of clinical practice at early adulthood.
